Born in Dublin in 1968, Martin McCann was lucky to have witnessed the many influential bands who came to play in the city during the eighties in such venues as The SFX and The National Stadium. Following a natural instinct, his singing voice eventually led him to front the band SACK.

After recording three albums with SACK and playing a series of shows as invited guests opening for MORRISSEY in Europe and West Coast USA, he took a slight detour to perform in an international song cycle for the Brokentalkers’ production, Silver Stars with music written by Seán 'Doctor' Millar. The Tiger Fringe Festival 2014 also witnessed his involvement in Maud in Cahoots' production, The Well Rested Terrorist at The Peacock Theatre in Dublin.

In April 2016 Martin appeared as part of composer Simon Quigley’s A Night By The Ocean in The John Field Room at The National Concert Hall, Dublin and co wrote both songs on the accompanying CD, The Human Tide.

He has also toured extensively with his acoustic three piece band ELEVENS and a collection of EP releases are also available on CD and download from iTunes.

Martin has also been a club DJ for over 28 years playing an eclectic mix of styles and is a fully qualified graphic designer.

He is currently reunited with Brokentalkers for their production The Circus Animals’ Desertion for Dublin Theatre Festival 2016 at The Samuel Beckett Theatre in Trinity College and The Everyman Theatre in Cork.
